1. World Migratory Bird day is celebrated on 12th May.

  • It is celebrated every year on second saturday of May and also on second saturday of October.
  • Theme is "Unifying our voice for Bird Conservation.

2. RBI puts Dena bank under Prompt Corrective Action.

  • Dena bank suffers loss of Rs. 1225.42 crore.
  • Before this RBI already puts IDBI bank, Indian Overseas Bank and UCO Bank under PCA.
  • PCA means RBI assess, monitor, control and take corrective actions on banks which are weak and troubled and mechanism through which RBI do this are called PCA.

3. Credit rating agency Fitch predicts 7.3% growth rate of India in 2018-19.
  • In 2019-20 Fitch predicts 7.5%.

4. British film editor Anne V. Coates died.
  • He won an oscar for David Lean's epic film Lawrence of Arabia.

5. India and Myanmar sign seven agreements.
  • seven agreements are land border crossing agreements, for restoration and preservation of earthquake, assistance to the joint ceasefire monitoring committee, training of Myanmar foreign service officers, setting up industrial training centres in Monywa and Thaton, and an agreement to extend the maintenance contract for the industrial training centre in Myingyan.
  • Myanmar capital is Naypyidaw.
  • Myanmar currency is Burmese Kyat.
  • Myanmar shares border with four Indian states namely Arunachal Pradesh, NAMAMI(Nagaland, Manipur and Mizoram).We easily learn from this short trick.
